Cairns, Australia

In July 2015, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Cairns for a clinical nursing internship. We spent two weeks at the Cairns Hospital, learning about the Aboriginal culture, providing care, and of course, cuddling koalas. This trip was during the pre-Nikon era so my pictures have all been taken with my LG G3 phone.

Walking along the Esplanade during the evening was one of the most peaceful things I’ve ever done.

I’m terrible at snorkeling or anything involving water so this  was taken safely inside a semi-submersible tour of the GBR near Michaelmas Cay

My thoughts aboard the boat taking us to Michaelmas Cay: Water is cool. Earth is cool. Wow.

Not pictured: Me hopping along with the kangaroo for about 20 minutes to get a decent picture.

***The Aboriginal culture and healthcare was eye opening and definitely something to talk about, but since this post is already getting too long, I will dedicate another to that topic.

I hope everyone has a good week! (I have 5 nursing labs and experiences this week so I’m excited to share my stories with you all soon!)

Thanks,
